Eevee is surely a unique Pokemon in all of its appearances in Pokemon media. It has so many evolutions, from Gen 1’s Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon, Gen 2’s Espeon and Umbreon to Gen 4’s Leafeon and Glaceon. And here, we will tell you how to evolve Eevee in Pokemon Go.
Evolution by Name
Before we tell you how to evolve Eevee, you need to know that Eevee’s path of evolution is mostly dependent on how you name your Eevee. For example, naming your Eevee “Tamao” will get you Umbreon, “Sakura” will get you Espeon, “Rea” will get you Glaceon and so on.
There are exceptions, though. For the original evolutions from Gen 1, Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon, you will get it by random chances. There is no way to ensure how your Eevee turns into one of these evolutions. There is no need to worry, however. Eevee is a Pokemon that is easy to catch, so you will get whichever Eevee evolution you want without any problem.
How to Evolve Eevee in Pokemon Go
The first thing to do is to name the Eevee you just catch with the corresponding name with the evolution that you want. Here are the names
- Rainer: Vaporeon
- Sparky: Jolteon
- Pyro: Flareon
- Umbreon: Tamao
- Sakura: Espeon
- Rea: Glaceon
- Linnea: Leafeon
After naming your Eevee, check whether the name has been changed by quitting and reloading the app. Once the name has been in place, you will need 25 Eevee candies to evolve it. Keep in mind that this naming trick works only once.
Now that you know how to evolve Eevee in Pokemon Go, the only thing left to do is, well, to do it. Decide what kind of evolution you want for your Eevee and name it accordingly.
